There's too much confusion...

Sleep Paralysis

Last night I opened my window before I went to bed because it was really stuffy. I laid down and mostly fell asleep, but a noise outside woke me up just enough to where I was in a state of sleep paralysis. Now if you don’t know, sleep paralysis is essentially being awake but you have no control over your body and are essentially paralyzed. Well, being spooked by a noise, my eyes opened. I could see my curtain lightly blowing and what appeared to be an arm pushing through. I kept struggling to move or speak, anything to deter this “person” from invading my room that is on the second story. Then I see something shiny that appears to be the rim of someone’s glasses and I slightly began to panic. I tried to yell out, “Hey, get out of here!” but again, could not move, could not speak. Instead, I am pretty sure I made a low volume honking noise a few times. After about thirty seconds of seeing this happen and honking like an idiot, I can finally move to see that no one is invading my apartment and it was my mind playing tricks on me.

Now, I look over at my curtain to see that the “arm” was a yellow, volunteer ribbon I got for assisting members of Jedi OKC at the Special Olympics and the “rim of the glasses” was the safety pin holding it onto my curtain. When my curtain blew, the ribbon flew out a bit, appearing to be an extending arm and a glimmer of light reflected and sparkled off the safety pin. Either way, I may end up making art about this someday.
